Christmas favourites + unfavourites

Hello, I really did mean to keep this blog updated everyday but it's the holidays, and I didn't bring my own laptop to my boyfriend's parents place. However, on this very late Christmas day/very early Boxing day, I thought I would share a few of the things I love and dislike about Christmas.

LIKE: The booze
LIKE: All the food (home cooked meals > the college diet I've been eating for 4 1/2 years.
DISLIKE: weight gain
LIKE: I know, this is materialistic but... who doesn't love receiving presents?!
DISLIKE: Christmas music. If it's not Rockin' Around The Christmas Tree or Feliz Navidad, it will probably feel like torture for me to listen to it.
LIKE: Boxing day sales
LIKE: Family times
LIKE: Time off
DISLIKE: I got 99 problems and an empty bank account is one.

Anyways, I hope to post again soon and I wil definitely be posting pictures from this week once ot's over! Follow me on instagram for more activity: instagram.com/allymariecatherine

Bye! And Happy Holidays! Hope Santa spoiled you.

Pamper Night

Hello everyone. So today I am packing! So, as my day will be rather boring, and I won't have time to do anything particularly interested, I took some photos of my pamper evening last night to share with you!

My Pamper Evening

First I put my hair up in one of my scrunchies from American Apparel because I wasn't washing my hair.

Then I used this Rimmel London makeup remover to remove all of my makeup.

No makeup!

Next I used this clean and clear makeup dissolving foaming cleanser to wash my face.

Then I used my newly bought Soap & Glory face mask.

I got it in my eye. Next time I'll be a weee bit more careful applying it!

Then I lit up my Bath & Body Works Party Dress candle which is one of my favourite of their winter scents.

Then I added some drugstore brand lavender and chamomile bubble bath and this bath salt. I have used up all of my Lush bath bombs, but am waiting till I move to my new city to buy some!

Then it was bath time! I love bathing in the dark with just a candle lit.

While I was in the bath, I used The Body's Shop Peppermint Pumice Intensive Foot Scrub.

Then when I was done it was time for comfy clothes. This is a long sleeve from Stitches.

And a cute pair of upside down BDG Urban Outfitters shorts.

Then I removed my face mask with a cloth.

I put on my Hydraluron moisturizer.

And some really comfy owl slippers and it was time to relax!

Anyways, hope you all enjoyed this, and I will see you tomorrow. I will be moving tomorrow, so you probably won't get anything beauty related, and then I will be spending a week at my boyfriend's parents for Christmas, so you'll probably get more pictures of my adventures rather than beauty. Anyways, see you!

Walking Downtown and Mini Haul

Today marks two days until I move! Since I'm going to miss downtown and many of the shops in the city I live right now, I wanted to go explore a bit downtown, but I also needed to do a few errands as well. So, I took some pictures on my adventures so here they are!

Today I attempted a fishtail braid for the first time. My hair is a bit too short so it's difficult to do, but it was okay for my first attempt!

Today I'm wearing a top from Urban Outfitters that I got second hand. My university has a facebook group where students sell their clothes, and being university students, they are usually good quality brand name clothes. I bought so much the past little while to take advantage of it, as I've graduated now!

Here is my overall makeup/hair look today, featuring a headband also from Urban Outfitters.

And here is my kitty! :3

This was me all bundled up and waiting for the bus. I'm wearing a scarf from Eclipse, a second hand sparkly hat, and my garage winter coat.

This was shortly after I got off the bus. My phone made the photos a bit wonky when I took them while I was walking, but I thought you might want to see a bit of downtown.

Next onto the main street downtown, and in the top left you can see Starbucks which was my first pit stop.

I settled on a tall skinny peppermint mocha which is my absolute favourite Starbucks drink!

I then had to drop off a prescription at the drug store, so I of course made a trip down the beauty aisles!

Stopped, admired, and bought an item from this Soap & Glory display. I'll be including a youtube video at the end wear I show off all of the items I bought today, and included the product name and their websites in the About section.

Then I was off to go to the shops!

This picture is really bizarre, but oddly awesome. You can see Urban Outfitters which was my next stop.

The Urban Outfitters downtown is quite large, and honestly, I am really going to miss it. I bought a few more expensive items there, which will also be included in the youtube video, because it will be awhile till I can go again!

I then started walking up a bit more which included stopping by Three Boutique which is a unique boutique in my town, which is unfortunately closing.

There's also an American Apparel, which I bought quite a few items from not too long ago. Spent way more than I should have!
And a Lululemon, which is wear I bought my leggings which I wear nearly every day.

Just a quick glimpse of downtown. You can't really see it, but on the right hand side, there is a little (very little) restaurant called Little Saigon which is an amazing yet really inexpensive thai food place, which I haven't eaten from since my friend left for Toronto this past summer!

The buildings and apartments above the shops are actually quite nice.

Here is Roots and David's Tea.

I went to David's Tea and purchased some of my favourite tea because I don't think we have one where I'm moving!

This is the salon that I LOVE. You get the full salon experience with hand massages, etc. It's quite pricey, but I always leave happy!

I always see this men's wear shop, and think it's so cute, like a quaint little shop you might find in England.

This was me waiting for the bus home.

Really poor quality photos taken through the bus window (it was quite dreary out today) of two of my university's buildings.

It was freezing rain today, so the roads were literally covered in so much ice!

Anyways, that is all for today. You can see my youtube video of the mini haul I did today here. I'll probably put larger posts on youtube and share them here! Anyways, talk to you tomorrow!

Wish list and Products I'm Excited to Try!

Hello, today I thought I would post a few items that are on my wish list, and also a couple products I have picked up recently that I'm super excited to try. So! On to the good stuff.

First on my wish list is Mac lipstick. Being a university student for the past 4 1/2 years, I haven't had much money as I barely made enough to keep a roof over my head. But I always walked up to Mac counter every time I was in the mall drooling all over their lipsticks. I'd preferably like to try a few of the matte shade, as I prefer a matte lip, probably in a neutral/pinky toned lipstick like the photo and a deep red.

Next is this Nars Larger Than Life lip gloss in Flamingo Pink. Every time I walk into Sephora I always apply some, and it's such a nice gloss and the colour is perfect.

I also tried this on in Sephora and it felt amazing and weightless on my skin. I will definitely have to try it.
And last on my wish list is a Chanel Classic Flap Bag. This will probably be on my wish list until I'm in my fifties. Honest to God I would give two kidneys to own this bag. Chanel makes the prettiest handbags in my honest opinion. I would probably keep this on a shelf and never use it because I would fear losing it or ruining it. Definitely will be saving up for this bag whenever I start a "Big Girl" job.

I picked up a can of this stuff just yesterday. I'm super excited to try this out because I've heard loads about this Batiste dry shampoo. And probably good to not wash my hair every single day!

The last product in this post is the John Frieda Frizz-Ease hair serum. I found this and the dry shampoo in my university's drug store, and I'm excited to use this, as I had some in my middle school years but never really used it, and my hair can sometimes get a little crazy because it's incredibly lightweight right after I shampoo it.

Anyways, that's all for today. I may post an outfit of the day later, but it all depends on whether or not I want to get out of these Roots sweatpants or lounge for the rest of the night, because I just finished my last shift at Tim Hortons! So excited... you can't even imagine how I excited I am! I'll be writing again tomorrow for sure!

EDIT:

Well, I didn't manage to get out of my sweats, so I have been lounging and literally watching youtube videos all evening. So nice to not have to worry about anything for quite awhile.

As you can see, I'm wearing my roots sweats, a VS PINK yellow tank, and a blue cardigan.

Also, I thought I would share the book I am currently reading which I read a bit of before bedtime.

The book is called The Bling Ring, and it's a true story about a group of teenagers that snuck into the homes of various celebrities like Paris Hilton and Lindsay Lohan, and stole various designer clothing, makeup and money. I'm really enjoying it so far, so I hope it stays that way! Looking forward to not reading textbooks for quite some time, so I'll be reading a lot so I'll keep you updated!

Anyways, I'm going to continue watching youtube videos and then shower and go to bed, so talk to you tomorrow!
